    Default Red-tailed Stare.

    Taken Sunday on our way home from a red-tailed quest, we were on our way to the grocery store, the light was almost gone, and this character popped up!!

    1/125 f4 iso 320
    D300 200-400 VR @ 400mm
    handheld, natural light, 75% of ff.
    very windy conditions left me with few images worth processing.

    have a good week, Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in Canada.

    That stare is priceless. The comp. works well I think ( a vertical would'nt do it justice ) and its nice and sharp for such a slow shutter speed (taken from the car window I'm guessing).

    Raymond, I love the composition w/ the lovely BG colors and the perch. The stare is awesome. You did a great job w/ windy conditions and HH.

    Loved the extra space around, the stare looks goodand good BG too, congrats..

    I like the direct eye contact Raymond, together with the space and lovely colours in the BG. I would maybe add a touch of contrast to the red-tail, and maybe take a bit off the bottom too. Still, a great image, and well captured.
