Allways a special moment when he perches close to the hide. At this instance he was too close to get in the frame & I went for a portrait shot of him. All C & C welcome!

Excellent portrait of the Fisher, love the sharpness. Is this background original?

Im determined to capture this guy next time I come and visit you. Great close up, and good exposure all round. Fantastic BG as always Gerrie.

Super opportunity well used Gerrie. I like the detail captured. It looks as thought it was overcast, and this helped with detail and colour.

Wonderful portrait, sharp and well exposed LLovely background too. I recall being really impressed by the size of this species when I saw one in Kenya many years ago.

Super capture, well done. So sharp and great BG. Is that a reflection of a dead tree that I see in his eye??

Thank you for viewing & commenting everyone. It is much appreciated.:)

Yes Arash, the BG is natural, and yes Elmar, it is a dead treestump reflected in the eye.

It is the biggest of the Kingfishers and a lovely bird to watch & photograph Simon.
