    Assignment: Textures and Colors – “Mr. Sal”

    This is Mr. Sal the salamander, a local resident of Miami’s Metro Zoo. Mr. Sal was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens, with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 500mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera spot metering / 1/125sec. - f/6.7 /exposure comp @ -1.3EV / ISO @ 500 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 2 degrees / saturation factor @ 2 degrees / support platform – tripod assist with remote electronic trigger release.

    OOH! I like this a lot Mr. Cobos. Would love to see what Topaz could do with this!! I would crop out the tympanic membrane on the left, as I feel it pulls my eye to it. Love it!

    Very dramatic; the colors and sharpness are superb. I kind of wish the lower jaw (?) on the left was also tack sharp but that's probably personal taste. I like the tympanic plate and wouldn't crop it out as then the pano is lost.

    Love the colors and the scale details, the reflection in the eye is a nice bonus too.

    I really like the colors. I agree with the crop from the left suggestion. Detail is great.

    I'm one for the left crop too, just personal taste i guess. Love the colors!!! Nice catching up with you and Mirenchu, Congrats!!!
