Welcome to BPN Brian. I like this image very much. You have produced great sharpness and the light is beautifully warm. The pose and look back are also really nice. The habitat is "busy" but not over the top IMO. The only habitat element that I wish were not there is the crossed sticks to the left of the bird's head.
Well done to photograph such a difficult species!
Thank you John. Those crossed sticks bothered me as well. A bit too close to the head and the blur on this particular item strangely seems to draw the eye rather than distract.
First off welcome and thanks for a nice first post! Great bird and SH with a nice EXP and the perfect head angle for the over-the-shoulder pose. But those crossed sticks bugged me..... I used a combination of the Clone Stamp (with "divide and conquer" and "protect and defend" techniques, the Patch Tool, and a few Quick Masks, all as described in Digital Basics.
Please post your images larger. Ooops. Forgot to attach the repost the first time....
Do you know Todd Gustafson?

Thanks Art. I will try those techniques. And no, I have not had the pleasure of meeting Todd Gustafson. And I doubled the size of the image in the original post.
Oh, I see the revision...looks much better. Thank you very much.
