(canvas and tail-tip added) Last year in Costa Rica I was lucky enough to find two quetzals in different locations, the second one presenting me with only a rear view hiding his beautiful red chest ...... nevertheless.....

Very nice, Susan, great that you got the whole tail in!

In an ideal world, the perch would not be as big and if you can carefully get rid of the white spot around his tail, it would bring it one step higher.

A very beautiful bird indeed, quite elegant. There are some odd horizontal and vertical bars at the bottom that need to be addressed and cleaned up.

Thank you Fabs and Daniel for your excellent suggestions. I got rid of the white around the tail-tip and the funky lines on the expanded area.

The most famous American bird watcher ever- Roger Tory Peterson- said this was the most beautiful bird in the world. I would say that's saying something!

Stunning image Susan. Would love to see one of these beauties one day. You did a fine job capturing the entire bird and I love the pose. Well done !!

Excellent image, Susan - I'm returning to Costa Rica next month and have hopes to capture one myself. I saw four of them the last time I was there, but was unable to get a decent photo. The adjustment to remove the spot made the image even better!
