Male Spotted Pardalote photographed in a local nature reserve. These birds are tiny foliage gleaners of eucalypt forest and woodland.
Canon 7D, EF500 f/4, + 1.4 tc, 580EE flash + bb, tripod with mongoose head, Evaluative, Av, fec -1 2/3, ISO 1600, f/7.1, 1/250. Cropped 57% of frame (17.9mpx -> 10.3 mpx), chromiance noise reduced in DPP, luminance noise reduced with Neat Image - twice on the background. I digitally pruned a second branch across top of frame.
I have never seen this bird before, it is a treat to watchnew species on BPn..Thanks for sharing.
Needless to say, this is a great catch. A little shake on the left leg is a little distraction to me..
Image looks a little worked to me, the top lines of the bird seem too smooth/sharp and unnatural to me. The subject and the background seem separated, I assume due to layers and PS work? Beautiful bird and nice setting.
