    Default Palm Warbler

    Cape May, New Jersey

Figured I'd finally post a shot in decent light! I Apologize for watermark and border in advance. This photo is pretty much as shot otherwise, I find the original can't even bare much sharpening.

A really nice image of this species in it's Fall plumage. HA, light, Exp, and sharpness all well done with a nice clean complimentary BG (one dust spot in front of breast). Border and watermark apology noted.

Excellent pose and head-turn, and lovely smooth background. You've captured amazing detail in the plumage, although on my monitor it looks just a little oversharpened.

Dave, Beautiful pose and HA. I like the golden gradient BG. Very nice details and agree it looks a tiny bit oversharpened - but not much. Well done!

Thanks everyone, I've noted the comments over sharpening. I ran a high pass filter on this one, with only about an 20% opacity layer. This beautiful warbler allowed me to get near minimum focusing distant in perfect light, and I stepped down a bit to keep the bill sharp. The feather grain isn't exaggerated here, but perhaps less overpowering in the full sized file.

Dust spot noted too, thanks Jim. I had the ISO cranked up a bit higher than necessary here because I was hoping to make a close-up liftoff shot. Unfortunately I didn't nail one this time. Otherwise I generally do this situation in ISO 100.

very beautiful, love the BG and detail. Perch is OK if not killer. Sharpness is pretty good too. YFS
