Am saying this as a friend Gerrie. Head is sharp. Tail looks sharper. Not much in it. :D. Worth just a tickle of sharpening on the head. Love the take off pose and choice of ss to get the wing blur as I know darn well if you wanted you would have that at 1/3200. Well done. :):):)

What an awesome image. Great sharpness and pose. Fantastic background and exposure. Only thing which might have made it even better would be if the bill was not overlapping with the right wing.

    Congrats! JR

Holy momma this is cool! I agree with the sharpening suggestion above. I see what John means about the bill, but at least the tip is clear which makes it good enough :-) As posted I wouldn't mind an inch less canvas above and an inch more below. I know its full-frame but this should be an easy modification if you don't mind this type of manipulation. There is a small light dot below the catchlight in the pupil that should go. Killer BG!

This is a great shot. I am still waiting to have a shot of this beauty. You have frozen the action very well.

Great image and take off pose. I would love to see just a little bit of room between the perch and the bird (ie. the next frame in the series) but I imagine the pose may be completely different by then. Well captured.

Hey Gerrie, my favourate subject. Excellent timing, pin sharp where it counts, and just love the two tone BG. If I had to change anything, I would maybe take a bit off the top. Congrats on a fine image.

super pose and BG Gerrie...ditto Dave about the tail being slightly sharper - some selective sharpening should sort that out. wish I had one like this!!
