My first post in this section, as I usually photograph birds, not mammals. ;)

Anyway, this little fellow was waiting atop of a trash bin while his mother was looking for food among the garbage on the ground...
Shot at the Lake Gardens district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in January 2008. Weather was overcast, hence the high ISOs.

    EOS 40D + EF 300mm f/4L
    ISO 800 1/320sec f/4
Slight crop from 3:2 format to 4:3

Thank you for your much appreciated comments and critiques,

    Xavier

Welcome Xavier and thanks for your membership support. I love the B&W presentation and the animals little Mohawk hairdo. I even like the side light.

    Oh my!!!! What eyes!!!
The side light really brings out a mood.
Big welcome to Wildlife, hope to see more from you.
I'd take a sliver off the left side of the frame for more impact.

Welcome to the wildlife section Xavier. Good work on the conversion, sharp, and I like the uneveness of the light - gives an eerie effect. The eyes puts this over the top. Great image.

great first post in this section! B&W has enhanced the features nicely. I would also consider rotating him slightly CCW to straighten the line of the head. Fabs' composition suggestion is good.

Thank you very much to all of you for your warm welcome ! :)

Here is the repost following your suggested improvements:
    - rotation to level the eyes, 5.19° CCW
    - consequently I had to re-create some background and fur, I hope it doesn't show too much
    - so I had space to re-frame, the little guy is placed a bit more to the left now
