Superb feather detail captured here John and such a great pose!! The perch with the frosty leaves is a nice touch and convey a wintery feel but the BG is so warm and a bit out of character - what is the BG John?

Not sure what that bg is but is superb !!!! Would llike to darken the to left corners a tad. Light corners don''t funnel the image as well

Compostion wise might have a little more room on the left to get the bird out of the center Have also been thinking of moving him down a bit Very lovely image Big Congrats !!!

This is awesome. I really like the color in the BG!

The frost on the leaves is a nice touch, but could have been a killer touch if the crystals were withing the DoF and nice and sharp. Looks like you had plenty of room to stop down a little, but I don't know if it would have been enough to get the DoF all the way back there.

Since the right side is already somewhat dark, I'd be tempted to burn the edges all around A-La Ansel Adams.

Thanks everyone for yor comments and suggestions, especially with the light left corners.
It would have been a nice touch to have the frosty leaves in focus, but the BG in this image is actually an old log building and bringing in more DOF might have revealed a hand of man in the image. I assume this does not break the rule of the wild and free forum?

Very nice perch, pose, BG and details. I might put the bird a tad lower in the frame and crop a bit off the left and right.
