Captured this image at a local open space park. I have been trying to capture some images of this pair. The male seemed a little more tolerant this day. Thanks for looking.

    Dan:

I like exposure, direct eye contact, colors, windblown feathers.

If the light angle was a bit more over your shoulder the left eye would not be so shadowed, but because the light wasn't too harsh, its not as noticeable.

In a perfect world, I wish the vertical stick on the left wasn't there. Pardon the pun, but it 'really sticks out'.

Hope to see more of this little guy.

Thanks Randy. The good thing about going to these local open space areas, I can keep going back to try and get different images.

    Great shot Dan,
Great warm colors, well exposed, great focus.
I don't know if this is an effect of the JPEG compression or some sharpening but there seems to be a lot of noise on the top of the picture for ISO 125:confused:

    Great shot nonetheless!

Thanks Christian. It must be my jpeg, the file is pretty clean.

Sky was way too intense. You are doing something wrong with your JPEGs as there was tons of artifacting in the BKGR. I QMed and flopped the good eye, ligthened the blues and the image, lost the extra branch, and Patch Tooled out a white sliver off the bird. And also a bit of de-SAt on the whole thing.

ps: I forgot: ran a 1 pixel Gaussian blur on the BKGR only to smooth it out somewhat.

Good looking Kestrel, and I like the eye contact. The ruffled plumage adds interest, and regarding the colours, I would go between your and Arties. Still, well captured Dan. Artie's job on removing the branch works well.
