    Thanks. Yes, I rode the camel, from the banks of the Nile out to a 6th century monastery in the desert. No, I didn't buy any Nubian books. I did visit a Nubian village, where I saw an Obama campaign button hung in a place of honor on the wall of a hut. And saw a bunch of good birds, including a Little Green Bee-eater on a wire in the village, a Nile Valley Sunbird along the river, and Hoopoes everywhere.
