    Colin:

    Nice yard.

Nice exposure control, sharp, preening pose. Amazingly big pupil in this light. Good DOF to keep entire bird sharp.

From a comp. standpoint, nice as is. Might consider a bit more room below (virtual feet), and crop in a bit from left( ~20% of free space). Just an option.

I agree with Randy on comp, def will look stronger with a more vert. comp. Love the ruffled feathers and look back. Very lovely image, Congrats

I agree with above, I think this would work well in vertical. Your Australian pelicans are very interesting, those eyes are amazing.

nice light and head angle. bit bright for my taste thought. also for composition i think this becomes to square. eaither harshad's suggestion or may be some space on top may add more artistic framing to this already well captured artistic form of the pelican

There are a few comp possibilities here - a few of them mentioned. I'm OK with this presentation. Good preening pose, I like the ruffled feathers. Randy, I'm not sure about the pupil comment...the yellow is bare skin around the eye and not a yellow iris :-)

Space on bottom and crop from left Colin. :) This format does not work for me unfortunately. But I love the pose and clarity. Well done mate. :)

Randy, their eyes are dark. See this.
