Hi Steve, I like this lots. Super comp, and the pose is just perfect. I like the light, and how the BG fades away from him into eternity. Lovely layers in that BG too. Looks like he couldnt have bolted, as there was no where to go but down. He actually looks pretty relaxed, and with all your hiking experience, you wold have made him feel at home anyway. Cheers.

Wonderful composition Steve with a lovely low angle. Excellent exposure and detail and I really like the DOF you chose for this image. Beautifully captured.

Great comp on this image. Like how she is just admiring the view. Like the colors in the background as well.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

Stuart, wish I could say I hiked to the top of this mountain but this particular one (Mt Evans) has a road to the top. I did walk from the parking lot to the edge though :). I got this comp because five other photographers wanted closeups and ran toward her as she come around some boulders. I was a bit further back, stayed put, and waited to see where she would run. She gave this little look back before she jumped down to the rocks below (about 1-2 meters).

Joel, this is a female Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep.

Peter, many from this particular herd are accustomed to people. The road to the top of this mountain is open for about 4 months a year (late May-late September) and gets quite a bit of traffic in the summer. Just sitting still and letting them do their thing can get you some nice shots.
