Love it!! Great comp and perfect DOF.

Would love to know how you managed to keep it so free of noise at ISO 3200. I know the 1D3 is not that great at noise reduction at that ISO, even if it was still exposed correctly.

    Thanks, Carl.
EXP was right on and BG is light, not conductive to noise. Only problem here could be the dark parts if underexposed. I used one pass of Noiseware and that was enough. Since we didn't use flash (he came after a group of us when a tourist used a point and shoot with flash and we had to run for our life!) I used Nik Color Efex Complete reflectors effect to illuminate the face and neck.

Dale, we both got a cold and not recouped yet :( but we did have a great time!
Thought you went hunting with Mike today.

Nicely shot and composed Fabs. Darn the tourists with their reckless behavior. WD!

How are those antlers Fabs - good looking fellow. Super pose, and he certainly pops from the BG. I would maybe darken the surrounding grasses ever so slightly. Hope you had a great trip, and look forward to more.

That is one nice looking elk! Like the comp and the soft light. Also like how the colors of the background compliment the elk.

Healthy subject, nice pose, and good color and detail are all reasons I like this simple portrait. Nice job on the exposure and processing too.
