    Default Theme: Peaceful - slumber

I had used a similar image (different frame) during the Asian Art theme... This was taken early in January one afternoon. The water was calm and the ducks after an initial glance did not care about my presence and went back to sleep. The original image itself was a bit dull; converted to sepia and then applied few gradient layers to create the fog like effect on top half and right. Hope you like it...

This also happens to be my 1000th post. It has taken me a while to get to this milestone. I have to thank bpn for providing a way to express myself and learn everyday in company of great photographers and artists. Thank you!

Your image conveys a sense of peace in a very calm manner. I like the sepia tones and the composition.

Hi Indranil, Congrats on the 1000 posts. The sepia tone is pleasant along with the gradient. A comp within the image would be to isolate the 2 ducks and the tree by themselves.

Dave, good point on the composition. I had originally planned to remove the two ducks on the right but that would leave a large negative space unless I convert this to a vertical frame. Making this a larger crop to fill the frame did not bring out the image I had in mind. I had another frame without the ducks but just the driftwood which probably would have balance the image better. I will post both options later today for feedback.

Again, Congrats on the 1K! Nice well-balanced image. Your treatment enhances the serenity of the image which would've been diminished with the inclusion of color IMO.

Nice image and application, Indranil. The reflection is restful and peaceful.

I like what you show. Would have been nice to see the full reflectkin of the tree branches, but what is there is very nice.

Indranil, Great choice of a photo for this theme and I think your treatment of the sepia tone certainly adds to the serenity.

Beautiful image, Indranil. The fact that the ducks aren't looking at the viewer really adds to the peacefulness, as does the sepia tone and reflections. Great work and congrats on reaching 1,000 posts! :)
