    Default Black-necked Stilt *repost*

This past year was unusually in that our summer was rather wet and much cooler than normal. As such, some marshy areas remained full of water much longer than normal. BN Stilts are uncommon in these parts but this year, we found several nesting pair in these marsh areas. This female came in and fed with her mate. The chicks stayed back in the taller grass.

    Hope you enjoy.

Jason, I like the crop and the up raised leg. The whites on the neck look a bit hot on my monitor. I might also consider eliminating the bright white areas in the foliage.

Great pose and nice inclusion of habitat without being distracting.

A bit of fill flash may have helped to even out the light.

Very nice BG, you got the red eye too. Agree with toning down the neck a bit

Thanks for all the feedback. Here is a repost with some of the white areas toned down a bit. Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Jason
