    From our last morning on my Yellowstone/Teton Tour.. BG was pretty busy so I used my 300mmF2.8 nearly wide open to help soften the BG..

    Nice looking bull. I like the colors and the comp. Personally, I kind of like the timber in the background. Shows the environment without being distracting.

    I also like the timber in the BG as it shows the location. The pose of the elk is excellent and the detail is good.

    Nice detail, I like the eye contact and that he seems to "pop" off the page/bg so I think you achieved your objective with the 300.

    It is a big bull in a nice environment. I like the composition and the pose. Nice photo.

    Nice bull. Would've been nice to get an all green BG but this one is smoothed out sufficiently to not be distracting. As mentioned by others, it gives a nice sense of habitat.
