I like the mean look... reminds me of the Rock from WWE :D
I would reduce the highlights slightly from the body and add a bit more contrast. Sharpness is fine... Overall i love the feel of the image. TFS

    Bibhav,

    Thanks for your time.

If assume are referring to bear's coat color tone and using highlights to retrieve brown color. This particular bear is still in winter coat and its the natural color. Brown bears are not always brown.

Regarding contrast, is your monitor calibrated?

    thanks
    Sid

I would have asked the same question, but then I know little about bears in general.

Great image , the grass adds a lot!

Great image! I like the light coloring of the bear and the grasses surrounding it. Nice eye contact as well.

Looks like a Sumo Wrestler! The colors are super and the crop is dramatic.

I like his menacing stare, the grass in his mouth and the great detail you've captured...at first glance I thought about cropping from the top to the treeline, but leaving the horizon as is gives it more perspective.

"Are you coming out to play with me Sid" :)

Love the 'look' and the grass. Although I am sure you are right Sid in that this is a true representation of the colour of the bear, but from a photographic point of view my *personal* preference would be to tone down the bears hilights a little :) but love it anyway.

This is excellent Sid. Frame filling but not to tight. Colors, detail and surroundings are top notch. Helps to have a healthy looking and cooperative subject as well. Nicely done.

Nice image and composition - the contrast against the fresh green of the grass. It amuses me no end that the 'mean look' is just from chewing the grass. Love it!

    Sid,
I too like this a lot. You've captured the entire tonal range and framed the photo effectively (as others have noted). The intensity of the gaze is enhanced by your cropping. Fine work.
