Pectoral Sandpiper I believe, although I did not get a good view of them other than into the sun. There were a few around. From this morning. 50D, 400mm/5.6 at f/8, 1/1500 and ISO 800. A decent crop as well as cloning and masking out a bunch of mud lumps and typical debris from a mud flat. Dave

Beautiful. You could probably intensify the reds and yellows with out it looking too unnatural if you felt like it.
May look better with more room underneath the bird rather than on top. Great silhouette though, good work.

Nice shot, I agree with intensifying the reds and yellows since that is what you are emphasizing here. I am also for more room on bottom.

Dave, Beautiful light and colors. I love the preening pose and the silhouette looks great.

Thanks for looking and commenting. I went with the more room at top as there was more colour in the water there. And thanks for commenting on the colour. It is good to know what others prefer. Dave

Hi - Like this a lot - agree with the advice on the reds - if you shot in Raw you could just try changing your WB to cloudy and see what difference it makes.
    Good show:)
