I took this image of Socks, one of my cats, taking a nap on some hay bales. I loved how peaceful he looked. The effects I used were as follows: Orton effect, gaussian blur overlay, channel mixer, two color fill layers, two photo filter layers, gradient map, blurred the edges, a vignette, and a light pass of dry brush filter. Any C&C are welcome!

Very sweet peaceful look to this! I like the orton effect and the other filters you used. The vignette in the UR corner looks a bit lighter than the rest of the image. I like the closed eye and the pale pink nose. The whiskers look good. Nicely done.

Definitely peaceful. I feel sleepy just looking at Socks.

The accentuated softness really adds to the mellow feeling.

Hi Christopher, Like the sepia look along with the cats pink nose. Agree the the rt hand corner should subdued since pulling ones eye away from the face...

This is "peaceful" Christopher! Your use of the orton effect is very nice.

    nice soft toning Christopher....definitely peaceful.

For me, about 20% off each edge for a much tighter crop to
force the viewer to discern/analyze the at peace kit....focus right in on it!!

Thanks Dan and Dave for commenting. Much appreciated!

Dave, thanks for the cropping suggestion. I'll see about giving it a try.
