Taken a few weeks ago at Blufftop Coastal Park in Half Moon Bay, CA.

300 + 2X using a 1DIII; rest of the EXIF on the shot.

I like the takeoff pose and eye contact. The composition works for me but I could also see it as vertical crop. The bird looks a bit soft, if it is not a large crop, I might sharpen the bird more.

Thanks guys. I thought that I was copying the image address, so don't know what exactly transpired. Will do as instructed (copy image address command) in future.

I also thought that selective sharpening of the bird may be in order. Will try that tonight and post a tighter crop to this thread.

Nice shot, HMB is one of the best place for raptors. If you try the fields near Wavecrest you can get closer to kites, please post a larger version so we can see the details it is too small.

I like the pose, wing position and red eye.
