Created this image in the late afternoon at Brian Picollo Park. I have gotten some questions about the 400 DO. I'm far from an expert and can only personally compare to 100-400 but this lens has really rocked. The only drawback is I can't get as close as my 100-400. With the 20mm tube it is about the same MFD as my 100-400. This was made at that MFD (with 20mm tube at about 8 ft). 1dMKIIN 400 DO 1.4xtc 20mmext ISO 800 F16@1/250

Lovely details and exposure. I wish to see more room in the direction the owl is looking but there are no rules!!

Excellent detail in the feathers David and a wonderful sharp eye. I do find the crop a little tight but that is a personal preference. What I am not sure of is the BG. Was there anything cloned or what was the BAckground in this image. Thanks David for sharing.

    Hi Judy and Maxis,
I do have a little more canvas in front of the bird. I just wanted to crop to show lens performance (with resolution and clarity). The BG is not cloned and is OOF grass!!!! It actually looks like green smoke in wider images. As always, thanks so much for looking and for expert comments!!!!!

Great details! Another vote for more room on the left.
