    Default The Strut

This Long-billed Curlew was photographed a couple of weeks ago @ FtDeSoto. As of yesterday, he was still there showing off.

    Marina:

Great title. Makes me think of a model on the runway.

Nice light, angle of bird, exposure. Because the bill is so long, my eye wants there to be a bit more room on the left, even though the head itself is nicely positioned.

I might clone out a few of the tiny twigs sticking up, minor.

    Very nice.

Gorgeous subject portrayed in lovely light. The color of the water really lends it self to accentuating the curlew. Ideally I would like to see his toes on the hind foot but I like the strutting gait. You might consider removing the white high light at the tip of his bill.

    Nicely done on all accounts.

Very nice striding pose with good detail and eye contact. I'd also like a bit more room on the left.

Marina, Really nice "strut" and I like the warm color tones on the bird. Agree w/ a bit more room on the left. BG colors look great. Nicely done!

Thank you everyone for your critiques. I considered adding canvas to the left but, frankly, opted for laziness instead.

Gorgeous light and strutting pose and a tad more space on the left would polish this off nicely. congrats....

I like the crop as is to be honest. Lovely strut and gorgeous bird. Light is terrific too, as expected.
