Made the early morning trek to MINWR which when its in season is awesome.........guess it's not here yet. Nothing really to be found so instead of going home empty handed I made due with this turkey vulture.

Tried for a higher angle but I was already standing on my tail gate. Kept the whitewash because this bird doesn't lend himself to a sterile environment.

Nice light, exposure, and perch. I might tone down the bill a little, and consider losing some of the grass near the bottom.

I like the light, colours and pose, Mike. Darkening the sky a little may be an option and a gentle shadow/highlight may open up the darks a little.

I do not mind the grass at the bottom Mike, sometimes I think we like to sterile a picture so showing habitat is good to me :) I agree with Tony though about the sky toning down just a little.

Looks pretty good to me, good light, sharpness and eye contact. I would only desaturate the reds a few points.

Sorry to hear your trip to Merritt Is isn't what you had hoped. At least you didn't come back empty handed. Love the pose here and you did well exposing the browns. You achieved a nice headturn and catchlight.
