This is an Eastern Meadowlark taken on Joe Overstreet Rd a couple of months ago. Typical fence post perch is not very attractive, but i tried to make the best of it.

    Nikon D50, Sigma 50-500 at 500mm, f/16, 1/400s, 0EV, ISO 800, handheld out the truck window.

Thanks for looking and comments and critiques are greatly apprecieated.

Very lovely image Harold with good lighting and detail as well as excellent eye contact. I would like to see more room to the left and on the botton to give the tail a little more space. Looks a tad noisy on my monitor and slightly over sharpened. The singing pose is a real bonus in this capture Harold. Many thanks for sharing.

This one is well worth redoing. Always good to get them singing. Exposure, colors, and detail are there. Judy Lynn has already mentioned the cropping and the oversharpening. I really like fence posts. When I grew up the farm land had fences.....and now they are gone. Fence posts give a perch to the fine birds and without them.....no birds.

Repost looks better, nice to get him in the act of trying out for American Idol, my only suggestion on the repost would be to do some selective sharpening around the eye
