    Another image captured at my practice rangeCamera Model Name Canon EOS-1D Mark III.
    The brown BG is an OOF brick wall, but I think the colour looks natural here? A bit like Namib desert sand.

    I like this very much and I wouldn't have known that it was a wall unless you said. Great expression on the bird.

    Pretty neat EG Dave. Lovely details in the whites too. Like the colors in the bg too.

    BG and flight pose are real nice. The eyes look a touch soft on my screen.

    Excellent exposure here in some pretty harsh light. Just a little blocking of the blacks, excellent balance achieved.

    Like the greens in the feathers and the green in the background.

    In a perfect world, I might prefer the bird to be clear of the green background, but it still stands out ok.

    Agree about sharpening.

    Excellent wing position, and bird position in the frame.

    Just the head need a round of sharpening, great pose, light and species.. congrats..

    Nice shot Dave, love the BG, eye contact, wing position and colors. It seems that there was some motion blur from panning but panning with a 500 is not easy so you did well.
