Tricolored Heron (juvenile) swallowing a fish. Hand held, subject at minimum focal distance(6ft). I could see disagreement on the crop, but for some reason I thought it works.

    Nice image and application.

I don't have a problem with the crop and might even take a little more off the left border. Sometimes it works.

I would suggest slightly more contrast.

But your image ... your vision.

    Like it. ;)

Hi Bill, I like the effect, fish in mouth and the blank backround which helps to bring out the detail. For my taste I would have preferred seeing the whole beak with the head slightly angled toward the viewer.

Bill, I really don't mind the cropped out beak but wish for a head turn. The fish is a nice bonus and the details are great!. I might tone down the one strip between the fish and it's lower back fin. Crystal clear eye!
