This lioness lives in Etosha National Park/Namibia and its pretty clear she's been through some battles but looked strong and healthy when I took this photo in February. She was part of a pride with three cubs. C&C encouraged and much appreciated.

Peter Kes read my mind regarding the WB/color temp, this image needs some temp warming. Unique picture with those multi-colored eyes. Definitely a survivor.

Love the story this lioness tells. One can only imagine what she has gone through.

Hi Katie! Great impact and story telling shot! I'm glad to see that you are having success with the 100-400!

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions, I do appreciate the feedback and I'm posting a "warmed-up" version, although as I remember our encounter, it was early morning with a white overcast, almost fog-like feeling, hence the cool look. How is this?

Your re-post does look great, but still has a blue(ish) cast.

If mine, I would prefer to view/present it like this...

Some people here might think that tweaking AWB actually alters natural history and blah blah...;-), but.....

I love the image quality from my 40D, and really like your image taken at ISO 800, so clean. Your 100-400 seems like a great copy.

I think the repost by Katie is very close to correct......only lacks a bit
of histogram spread to the right and some color boost....and very minor color correction.

This is only in my "blah blah blah" opinion of course
