I have LOTS of cardinal shots... so I did something a bit extra.... I always loved the body english but in the original the bg was a bit too busy to allow it to really stand out....

This is a very pleasing creation. I like the painted effect of the greens/branches/snow and then a sharp image of the cardinal. Good idea!

yeah.. when I use my artistic liscense I pretty much toss out any preconceived ideas of what the bird should look like.. I took a bolder approach with the color than a normal female cardinal would have.. the reds are boosted and a bit "hotter" than normal.. the browns are quite a bit warmer... the beak practically incandescent.. this is as I intended.. I admit that not everyone will like it... but on the other hand Ive sold lots of these as canvas prints and matted prints.. probably more than a dozen of this one.... including a 20x30 canvas... so sometimes its "pays" to boost your colors... not always I admit... but sometimes... .. thanks everyone for their thoughts.. always appreciated....
