Got my 7D this afternoon at a little after 4pm. Rushed over to the zoo to photograph the ducks but the gate was locked. Spoke with a kind lady in the admin building who let me in for the last 25 minutes of the day. Unfortunately the duck pond was largely in the shadows. I still managed about 50 frames. In this image I sharpened the bird but did nothing other than a slight decrease in brightness to the BG. No NR. I'm impressed with the level of detail compared to the 50D. Not enough time spent with the camera to form any other meaningful opinions.
Canon 7D, 500mm, f/7.1, 1/1000, ISO 400, hand held
Nice colors and fine grain.
7D looks like the perfect bird camera. Think I'll wait for the frenzy to die down and maybe see what the 1dmkiv will look like. Think I'll be here in feb?
Congrats with your new camera there. Looking good from the results and I am sure many will be looking forward to your thoughts and input on this new one from Canon, myself included!
