I wish for a cleaner bill, also the LRH corner is OOF, I was very close to the bird.
Tried to lighten the eye but didn't like the result.

    CC appreciated.

Good self-critique and a nice crop. And sharp. Can you age this bird?

Ay... Well, the supercillium is not too prominent, actually it is hardly there,
But on this larger image, the back is patterned.
    Hard one...

I like the composition, sharpness and complementing BG. Have you tried to lighten the iris only?

Yes Axel, the iris is not completely blocked, but if I lighten I get patchy red iris, didn't look too good.
If you think it can be done properly, please be my guest.

The iris is quite dark, I lightened it a bit and tried not to overdo it and removed the second catchlight.

Better; I can see just a hint of the pupil. That is one dark eye.

Axel, thanks for the correction, the reason for so dark eye I think is the sidelight, while the flash helped the
plumage, did not help the eye in this case.

    Daniel,

The 2nd version has plenty of the bird, however good portion is OOF that's why I went with the vertical crop.
