It is very different from what we usually see here and I like it, the use of flash works great IMO and the stormy BG is very dramatic, the pose is almost a sculpture with that interesting perch, and the only thing I would've rather is for the trees in the BG to be more OOF.
    Congratulations.

    Michael:

I agree with Ramon about the dramatic nature of this image. I like the repetitive lines of the bird, trees and clouds. Normally would like a flatter shooting angle, but it worked well here because of the background composition.

Just from personal taste, I might go slightly lighter on the image, not much, want to preserve the story feel.

    Fine job.

Dramatic nature is the key , If mine I may give more space all around , I liked it very much

Neat setting and I like the pose, maybe a bit more room at the top?

I like this image very much. But I think that one improvement might be to brighten the legs of the bird and the foliage in the lower portion of the image. That could be done by opening the image in PS Camera Raw and then upping the fill light slider a bit.

A little more space above the bird would also be better IMO.

But thanks for sharing this nice image!

I love this one. Great Stormy sky, and I like the trees as they are. It feels like a wide angle shot.

I like the stormy sky and inclusion of environment.

Why the 2x when IQ would have been improved with the lens naked at 200mm ?
