Big Congratulations Ramon. You have been an asset to this site. Beautiful image and I love the wing spurs showing. Is that a chick hiding underneath? Fantastic details and sharp clear eye.

Congrats Ramon, always look forward to your images. A lot of your posts are of birds I've never seen or heard of and they are always beautifully presented.

    Hey Ramon,

Your 3000th post hasn't been too long ago. You are at 4000th because of your active and constructive participation to this forum, that is always a benefit. Thank you for that.
I was wondering yesterday when I saw one of your comments and the count on that post what you will come up with for the milestone. Very nice image and very cute as well with the mother guarding her chick. Great choice for the occasion.

Perfect shot there, full frame and all. The lighting is brilliant. A tad tight in crop at the top for my liking but that is just me. Congratulations on this milestone post.

Congrats on 4000. Thank you for your active participation Ramon. Beautiful bird and light...only wish for a better HA - I like the downward pointing, but would have liked for it to swing its bill our way a bit more. Keep up the great work!

Congrats Ramon on your 4000th post a real milestone a still have to make it to 1000.........anyways thanks a bunch for your contribution at BPN and the high quality standard of your shots!

Regarding this shot, the light, setting and species are great. I would also prefer a bit more eyecontact and wish we could see the little one just a bit better as to give the viewer a better idea of what is going on.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Krijn

    Ramon:

Congrats on the milestone. A precious moment captured. Excellent techs, comp a smidge tight for my taste, but really all around excellent. I had to look twice to see the chick, the image pulls you in to look again, can't beat that.

Thank you all very mucg for you kind words and suggestions, regarding the Head Angle, I like this one as the interaction with what is happening below her is better, I do have a few with better HA and in those there's not really a conection between the chick and the adult as you can compare from this image above.

Some of you might have seen them already, but for those who didn't, there are a few more images from this morning where the chick is fully visible, here are the links:

I remember this series and this is another good one. I like the sharpness, angle, BG and that we can see the chick huddled under the parent. Congratulations on the milestone!

Lovely moment captured. Gorgeous light. I happen to like the HA in this instance.

Did you blur the background in PS as the dof seems to fade off in areas instead of drops off, particularly behind the tail and in front of your bird ?

I for one appreciate your participation and the gorgeous images you have offered here.

Thanks Mike, I didn't do anything to the BG, a lot of people thought I did with all the images of this series, but there's not a touch of digital blur :) that is how it looked like, although what you see is probably some NR effect. Here's a jpg created from the RAW, I didn't do anything here except for my signature :) Take a look.

Ramon, first of all congrats on ur 4000th post here. Its always good to hear from you as you have been one of the most active participants here and very encouraging.
I like the first picture of this series wrt HA and composition very much but then I like the PPing in the current image. That shows the learning path after you have posted your first picture of the series way before, I remember.
Congrats and wish to see more beautiful pictures from you.
