    Taking in North Key Largo with a D2X and 600/4. f4@1/400 sec, iso 640, EC -2/3 stop.

    Nice little bird, nice pose, detail, comp, BG, and sharpness. Some NR to the BG would help and although I don't really know the species I would suggest warming the whole thing up just a tad more.

    Nice pose, perch, and BG. I agree warming the image up may work. Another option is to desat the blue and cyan channels as there is a blue cast to the bird's plumage...I tried it, looks good.

    Very nice bird and pose, perch and composition are all excellent for
    the species. "Classic" B&W pose. I like it a lot! Agree about warming,
    worth the already excellent image.

    Nice shot Rick,
    I really like the birds pose, and agree with others comment regarding suggestions for more NR, and the presence of a blue cast.
    I would've like to have seen a little more DOF also, if light permitted.

    I am a huge fan of shallow DOF...hence loved this shot a lot. The composition is beautiful. another vote for NR on the BG

    I like everything about this image but agree with Dan about the slight blue color cast, also just to let you know it's not a breeding male as his throat and cheeks would be black
