I just got back spending a nice long weekend at Pismo Beach with my family I was surprised that I didn't see any shorebirds the whole time I was there.
I did manage a few seascapes with some Heermann's Gulls

Nice light, backdrop, and mood. I would place the bird more in the corner. Next time try the end of Morro Strand State Beach, just before Cayucos beach. There is a rocky area between the two that contains these turnstones all winter. I was there this weekend, and there were about two dozen turnstones, a couple oystercatchers, plus some peeps, and plovers.

It is about 15 min. north of Pismo I think.

Beautiful soft pale blue. I like the "scene" it is very calm and the ocean waves are a nice touch. At first I thought put the gull further to the corner,but the more I look at it the more I like it as is.
