This was taken early March, before the end of the rainy season which accounts for the lush foliage in Namibia's Etosha National Park. This is one of my favorite images from the trip. C&C encouraged and much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Harshad, for your comments and your adjustments. It's interesting that I have two versions, the one I posted and another very similar to yours with the added contrast (but without the smoother, blurred bg that you obtained). I chose to show the softer version but I like both and will work at blurring the bg.

Hi Katie, very nice animal and I can see why you like this one :) I agree with Harsad's minor contrast adjustment and a little more room at the top comment, I think the habitat works really well and puts context to the image.

Hi Katie. Lovely shot and inclusion of habitat. Like Harshad's re-post which enhances your fine shot. Very nicely done and can see why it would be a favorite.

    Katie,
Nice image. The flowers look nice. I would have loved to see a version with greater depth of field.

Thank you all for your C&C; I went back to my raw files and reworked a slightly different (3rd of three) image from the same burst to give more headroom, blurred bg and a bit more sharpening. Didn't boost contrast very much because this is early morning, overcast condition image. Better? more contrast? Again, thanks for looking!

Hi Katie. It was great to see you last weekend! Lovely image. I do like the idea of a contrast boost, and also think the original was too tight up top. Your repost is an improvement, although I'd probably take away a bit of the added canvas up top.

I agree with Doug. Slightly less canvas at the top would look good.

I have never been to Etosha in the "green season", it looks very different.
I actually think that somewhere between the first post and the repost would be better, I think the browns are a little too much red, the side stripe should be a lot darker as I remember.
