    Default Yellow headed blackbird singing

Last spring at Peone Prairie. This is a fairly heavy crop as he was quite far off. Maybe too much crop?

Also trying out my new Smugmug account. This has various sharpening associated with the amount of downsampling when posting. Like to hear how it looks in that regard.

Hi Ben. I recognize your name from DP Review; nice to see you posting here! I love the singing pose, and the detail in the blacks is excellent. Overall you wouldn't know that this is a particularly heavy crop. Perch and BG are also quite nice. I would crop a bit off the right and the top. Do you have a frame with better eye contact?
Upcoming Workshops: Bosque del Apache 2019, Ecuador 2020 (details coming soon)

Hi Doug, recognize you too. Thanks for comments. I cropped this with the eye at the 1/3 point. I always thought it made for too much wasted space.

There is a certain turn of the head at full song when they are rearing back and singing their heart out. Hard to get eye contact and this singing pose at the same time. I will give it a try next spring.

I have a ton of these guys. I will post more later on. Just rebuilding my new gallery after the Pbase crash. Not so easy as I have to re-process everything because I want to build at full size rather than downsized.

    Hi Ben,
I like the capture and the singing pose, agree with Doug's advise, you do have fine details in the blacks, the head angle does not bother me that much...looking forward to more...

Nice, like the singing pose, and the detail is good for a heavy crop. Love the three different layers of colors on the BG. Great job Keep them coming:)
