    Default Lesser Yellowlegs

I went to the meadowlands west of New York City this morning and met with Denise and a friend of hers. We had a lot of fun with yellowlegs shortly after sunrise.

Saturation is preety much a matter of taste... I would tone down the reds a tad.
Great light, comp, pose, detail and sharpness! Congratulations!

Axel, The light was spectacular this morning. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. I love the inclusion of the ring with the blue tone that it has. Nice and sharp and I like the composition.

Its a beautiful picture, tad sharp, nice lighting condition and beautiful BG. You did a good job of not going too low in this picture. Congrats!!

Hey Axel beautiful colors captured and a nice shot for sure but the colors on the birds wing seem to have saturated to the color orange mimicking the BG on my monitor ? Maybe to much sat. on the bird?

Thanks, James! I think the colors in the plumage are due to the reflection of the BG. I didn't change the saturation of the bird or color temperature, it's just very early light.

Ah the colors of the fall....lovely! In addition to some incredible water and light, the bird looks great IMO.

Sometimes I wish Florida had some of those fall colors, this shot and Denise's shot makes me want to go north. Beautiful capture in perfect light.

Thanks, Daniel! We got really lucky, there were several yellowlegs at this spot and the morning light and reflection of different BG colors ranging from green, yellow to red were amazing.

Wow Axel, those are some great colors. It reminds me of autumn. Great exposure, low angle, and BG.

Sights like this make it all worthwhile. Amazing light captured and the ring of water gives is a special touch.

Beautiful picture, was it tripod or HH, looks a tad soft, not too bad. Maybe another sharpening pass as well.

I would tone down sat, it pulls my eye off the main subject. As you know, its all about feel - well done.

Thanks, Jeff! I didn't use a tripod and the bird looks sharp on my monitor. I try not to oversharpen images.

    Hey Axel,
All looks good on this end......I tend to lean toward bold colors so that is fine with me too and doesn't appear over doone! Looks like you all had a good time!......was the gate open?

Thanks, Roman! The entrance gate to the park was open, the gate to the trail was not but it was possible to get through anyway. :)
