I was watching the Ken Burns National Parks series on PBS and couldn't help working on one of the Yosemite images!! I had taken this Vernal falls image back in 2001 on an overcast day. Converted to b&w with a tint and adjusted levels. Hope you like it...

Very nice waterfall image, I like the softness of the fall that hits the rock at the bottom. The texture at the face of the cliff fits well with monochromatic effet, help bring out the different in contrast between black and white.

Indranil, This has a very mysterious mood to it. Very nice lighting for this. I like the hard to soft look you get as you go down the falls. Nicely done.

Nice COMP and I really like the tinted B&W effect, Indranil. I also like the progression in the falls of sharp top to soft bottom - gives this movement. I would be curious about the EXIF data for the original photo, especially ISO and shutter speed. Now I've got to start tuning in to the Ken Burns series ... missed the first one.

I like that the detail in the rock wall is so well preserved throughout the conversion and tinting process. Just right!

Indranil, Nice detail in the water an interesting varnished wall to the left. Would have preferred a bit more room to the right and some on top so the falls weren't clipped.

Hi Dave, here is another frame with more canvas on the right...

Very nice, Indranil. I love the sepia tone! Comparing the two images you posted, I prefer the tones and details in the original, though the repost does improve the comp a bit. Just my opinion!

Great treatment of this image, Indranil! Very nice job with the repost, and the waterfall movement is wonderful. I've also been watching the Ken Burns series; it prompted me to pull out my Yellowstone images.

Excellent work Indranil! Very strong image to start with and the tint is very pleasant. The effect reminds me of sepia prints I used to make on Ilford paper, 45 years ago...
