Now that pbase is up and running again here is another one from Borneo on our recent trip.
These Pied Hornbills came near to our accommodation and with the rig already hooked up with a 1.4II ext I just shot them off as they came into view on a clear perch.
1D Mk3 + EF800mm + 1.4II ext 1/250s f/10.0 ISO800 EV +1/3
This was taken in brilliant sunshine and lighting a little bit harsh. I exposed for the blacks and the "horn" may be a little blown.
This image makes one rush out and buy an 800 mm lens ,superb detail on the feathers,Cloning out tiny distracting white spot in front of bill would make this perfect to my eyes
The light does not look bad and you did a great job with the EXP as there is detail in both the darks and the light-colored bill. Killer bird and I actually like the head angle as I think that it helps to show the bird's personality. The two shadows that fell on the bird bug me. You could lose the lower one by cropping from the middle of your name.

Thanks for all your comments.
Stephen - Yes quite an amazing set of eyes with mascara!
Suzanne - You should go out and buy the 800mm and satisfaction is guaranteed. I have removed the niggling white spot in the repost
Artie and Harshad - Repost and cropped as suggested.
Way to go JC; the BKGR looks much cleaner. Upon a second look I learned that the shadows on the base of the bill bug me a bit also. I am not a big fan of filtered light, but this image still rings my bell.
