    Arsdel:

Sharp on the head and eye, nice head angle.

Some noise in the background, and a noticeable halo around the back and tail. I find the BG on the right a bit too bright and distracting, esp. the yellow/orange patch.

This is an individual thing, but I think the bird is a bit too big in the frame. Artie usually talks about 65-70% of the frame filled by bird, and this one looks a bit too tight to me.

    Thanks for sharing!

Ardsel nice capture. I like the sharpness of the head, bill and eye and the colour on the breast. I'll agree with Randy about the size of the bird in the frame. It's a touch too tight for me as well but it is your image.

What are the colours in the upper RHC from? Fall leaves?

Arsdal, sometimes good things come big and this one is in the frame. As you have mentioned 7 feet from you so I guess not too much choice to re-set that zoom earlier. You have lots of details and also a halo around the back and tail suggesting a trifle too much USM perhaps. The different coloured bg is a bit of a distraction to me but otherwise a colourful species.

Hi Ardsel. I like the head turn and the sharp eye. I agree that the bird is a little too tight in the frame. I would have liked to see a bit more of the bird in focus too. Randy makes some good points about the halo and the BG distractions. Thanks for posting!
