wonderfully blurred background in this image, Kyle. And nice sharp details in the flower. I might have tried just a little more dof to get the entire petals and all the anthers sharp; if that did not sharpen the background.

Hi Kyle - Agree with Cheryl's comments - The BG is killer and set the flower off really well. Not sure about the negative space on the RHS might crop some of that out. The downward lean to the flower IMHO is not that flattering - sort of gives me the feeling that it is on its last legs.

    Keep em coming :)

Hi Kyle the colours in the lily are very pretty. I think if you had just gotten down a bit lower it would have looked nicer. I sharpened it and changed the crop. I also used content aware to add more canvas to the bottom. (In Adobe CS4) Hope you don't mind me tweaking it a bit.

Lovely colors and beautiful green background. Nice details, espectually on the petals, also like how the spores(?) are sticking on the stamen(?) too. Agree about tighter crop and more DOF. The repost by Jackie made this image even better.

    Hi Kyle,
I like the the color rendition on your flower, the negative space to the right side needs to be cropped. and would add a little canvas on top to turn it into a vertical composition following the diagonal line of the flower...the capture angle, is a little off, the flower needs to be rotated looking at you, might also increase the saturation and contrast a tad to make this lady come alive...Jackie's repost improves the presentation...do like the soft pastel green background...looking forward to your next one...

Thanks everyone for the comments, it really helps me improve. Jackie I love the re-post that you did, thanks. The only reason i keep so much room on the right was because the flower was facing that way, and i like the BG. But i do like the crop. I do have one w/the flower face on, but it looked funny because it is starting to die and wanted to show the petals curling back. Thanks for looking:)
