This was taken early in the morning right after sunrise. The Pelicans were feeding and were close by for me to get few a good images. I liked this one with water flowing out of the bill. I cropped the image to get focus on the head. I was not sure on the vertical crop with the angled head. Settings were -
40D, 50-500mm @ 500mm tripod with mongoose 3.5a
1/1250 sec, f/8 Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: -2/3 ISO: 400
Adjusted levels to reduce the red channel, increased saturation, applied Denoise and usm. Your C&C would be appreciated.
I like it Indy, nice and sharp with great detail. :) I am not sure of this (almost) square crop. Something I am not conditioned to, that's all. Vertical may be good, if not better as I feel that would concentrate the viewer towards the lower bill?
Thanks Indy. I am far from expert, but I would crop like this. Though as we would both agree cropping can be a very personal choice. :) Cheers mate. :)
