Since I've been out of town and without internet access, I haven't been able to participate or see the entries except on my Blackberry - not a very good way to view photos!
I actually did this composite a few months ago. It was my first try and took me forever. At least the next one will be easier ... I hope.
Any tips on what I could have done better would be appreciated.
The nine photos all came from one of my favorite places near my home, Brazos Bend State Park.
Patti, I think you did a great job merging all these elements into one image. Your post processing skills are great! I'm thinking maybe you have too many main subjects here though. The PG on the lotus pod and the Heron are both illuminated nicely but they might be better in another image. I do love the silhouette look to this and the somber mood created. Well done and welcome back!!
Hi Patti, I think you spent alot of effort in creating this with a good deal of nice manipulation. There are parts of the image which stand out and are very appealing. The 2 deer with the sun between them silouetted in the grass is a good comp all by itself. The beautifully lit PR could be a comp by itself also. I like the way you manipulated the backround also. I think when you put it all together there is no real center of interest and the eye has no where to rest. Very often simple images can be the most effective. Very good effort...
Super job with PP, Patti, but I agree that there are too many subjects. If you didn't flatten all of your layers, I'd love to see this with some of the elements removed.
Thanks much to all for looking and commenting. I guess I got carried away with practicing blending. I just kept adding more and more until there wasn't any more space. I will see if I still have the psd file with all the layers and try to unclutter.
Great blending skill, very clean. A lovely background color too. Agree about too many subjects, maybe start by removing the bird in lower right corner since that one seem out of place the most.
