Default Dunlin inspecting the green stuff.

Needless to say, this guy did not eat his veggies:). Same bird and same "birdherding" strategy as my previous post. I was happy to include a bit of greenery here. This beach tends to have some ugly debris on it, so to have clean and/or green stuff is always bonus at this location. Of course having the kids herd the subjects to prime locations is an effective way to achieve this:cool:

Very appealing! Your herding technique has worked well to get such a close and detailed shot. The bit of 'salad' is a nice counterpoint to the browns.

    Daniel:

Very nice, just the right sharpness, with good detail, inquisitive pose, colors.

Perhaps you will have to loan out your kids as bird herders!

    Cheers

Daniel, I like the way you framed this. The feather details are nice. I also think the green adds to the composition.

Great herding technique you've got there:)
I like the pose and feel of intent on this one.
Good piece of greenery... I would get rid of the two
small white dots on the body plumage.
    Very nice one.

Beautiful low angle and eye contact. Detail is pretty good too. TFS

Nice Daniel. I like the purposeful look of the bird as it presumably probes the weed. The light and sharpness are great.

The eye looks funky. Did you do anything there?

Hi John, thanks for the comments. I did lighten the eye and the (very) faint catchlightlight that was already present. I thought it looked good, but good eye by you in detecting something there - perhaps it was a bit overdone on my part.

Yeap, I would darken the eye as these birds have really dark eyes. Nice pose, light, detail and species, lovely BG, colors and sharpness.
