    Made this image after some showers in overcast conditions with D300 , 600mm, beanbag , ISO 200, F5, 1/250

    Whoa. I am glad that I cleaned my glasses! I like the way that you waited for a pose that captured the bird above the grass. The dead grasses are a bit distracting; the dead leaf just in front of the bird's near-foot is the worst offender as it draws the viewer's eye. It would be easy to lose it.

    Great low angle, and HA. I may also eliminate the grass strand nearly touching the throat, but overall very nice! Interesting lilac colour to the iris.

    You could tidy up a little as advised and it would enhance this already great shot. I do like it as is personally. Nice habitat image and love the dirty bill. TFS.
