Taken at Hluhluwe Game Reserve last week in rainy weather. My "whistle" wasn't too good - it wouldn't look towards me so HAP will have to fine!!:o I did open the door and hang down to try for a lower angle. It's only the 2nd time I've seen them and first time I've managed to get a shot so thought I'd share and keep until the next time!

    Canon 40D
    focal length: 93mm
    ss. 1/60 sec
    Exp. + 0.67EV
    F/4
    ISO 400
    Flash
    Hand held
( guess I should have upped the ss )

Nice record of an unusual species Jeni. Flash has largely frozen the subject but there was obviously enough ambient light to show a bit of ghosting at 1/60s. A higher SS would have reduced that but darkened the BG leaving a more "flashed" look. Looks like some evidence of cloning LLC.
P.S - loved your heron and snake sequence in Africa Birds and Birding.

Thanks Tony, appreciate it. I have "fixed" the LLC - there was a bright spot there. I also desaturated the bg a bit. I was very pleased that Birds and Birding decided to use the pics.:D
