This was taken on Saturday at Three Lakes in Kissimmee. The lighting was very overcast thus resulting in a high key image. I was so thrilled to get a glimpse of these beautiful creatures that the lighting was not a priority at that moment.

All comments are greatly appreciated. Many thanks !!

I like the high-key look, but wish the face were a touch brighter.

It is hard to tell where the frame ends against the site BG, but I would keep the owl's head really high in the frame.

I have no clue what you could have done about it, but the perch bugs me for some reason that I'm not quite sure of. I'm not sure if it is the angle or the way it blocks a lot of the rear wing. . . I'll be interested in what others have to say on that.

Hi Judy You made the best possible image from your position !!!

I do like high key images a lot This goes well with the bird Normally you find them with a busy bg The bird could go a little brighter a s Jim suggested Fill flash could have help but is alway dangerous lowering the shutter speed to get the light out there

    Always a fun encounter !!!

Judy this is a great capture. The pose really makes it. As Al mentioned you normally, at least around here, see them resting on a branch close to the tree trunk in dense forest.

    Great pose, Judy.

In addition to the things already mentioned that others like, I also really like the translucent effect on the lower feathers.

    Beautiful.

I like this a lot Judy. Especially the seethrough feathers! The exposure is very well executed, and I like the pose. Very well done seeing the circumstances!

Wonderful image, Judy! I am not especially fond of high key, but this works very well. Thanks.
