...when you start photographing gulls. :) I was on the shore at low tide before sunrise. There were 3 different plover species, dunlins and sandpipers in a perfect spot. They let me get close and I was just waiting for the sun to rise when a peregrine went after them and that was it, they never returned. I was not amused. :)

I liked the light and BG in this one, a bit more head turn would have been nice.

Funny coicidence as I spent a few hours photographing gulls this morning too...only difference is that I didn't see any shorebirds except for distant Killdeers :-) Nice flight image, agree about HA.

    Bummer that man. :)
I don't mind the HA much because from the way the body is angled and it's clearly banking, it is only looking ahead to where it needs to go. Excellent light and details. :)

Loverly light, sharpness on the face, and framing. EXP perfect. The only thing that bugs me at all is the difference in sharpness and feather detail between the near and the far underwings....

Beautiful bird and BG. Agree with you about the head angle.

Thanks, Artie! I'm not sure if it is because of DOF or motion blur, the shutter speed was relatively low despite the high ISO.
